Intimate Ely's Mill Wedding in Gatlinburg
About this Intimate Ely's Mill Wedding
Last month I got to photograph the sweetest intimate wedding at Ely's Mill in Gatlinburg. Cora and Tyler decided to have an a small destination elopement with only their closest friends and family present. Covid had unfortunately ruined their bigger wedding plans, but once they saw Ely's Mill and how beautiful the location was, there were actually so much happier that things worked out the way they did and they were able to say their I do's in a place they said was more beautiful than their original wedding venue. Cora looked like a literal princess and it was such a beautiful and bright summer day, everything just came together so perfectly.
Why I love photographing weddings at Ely's Mill
Ely's Mill is a location I've photographed multiple small weddings and elopements at before, but it's one of those places that can be new each time you go back. The location has so much to offer and you can always have a different experience. I love that they have the pavilion as an option for the ceremony, which is perfect if you have a larger group or inclement weather. I've also photographed elopements where there was only the couple and we were able to do their ceremony right in front of the water, which is one of the main features at Ely's. However, since this area is heavily shaded, especially in the pavilion, I would recommend that if you are considering having your elopement or intimate wedding here, that you schedule it for earlier in the day rather than later, because as soon as the sun starts to set even a little, it can get really dark quick!
