Scatterridge Lodge Elopement in the Smokies
About this Intimate Scatterridge Lodge Elopement
A couple of months ago Doris contacted me about capturing her and Franklin's intimate Smoky Mountain elopement at the Scatterridge Lodge in Tennessee. This wasn't their original plan, but due to COVID-19, they were forced to change up their plans and elope instead. Their elopement was super intimate, since it was just the two of them, and although this was their plan B, it turned out so incredibly beautifully. They chose to elope at the sweetest little cabin venue tucked away in the Smokies, and they said their vows to each other at the peak of golden hour with the sun slowly going down behind the mountains. I was so thankful to be able to capture these moments for them.

About the Scatterridge Lodge and Having a Cabin Elopement
With so many couples opting to elope these days, cabin elopements have been becoming more and more popular here in the Smokies, especially this year during the pandemic. This elopement was held at the Scatterridge Lodge in Gatlinburg, which is such an adorable cabin venue owned by the sweetest couple. Not only was it the perfect place for Doris and Franklins intimate ceremony, but the owners were also involved in all steps of the wedding day, such as playing live music as Doris walked down the aisle to the ceremony. The Details of this Intimate Scatterridge Lodge Elopement
All the details of Doris and Franklin's elopement were so sweet and beautiful. As Doris was getting ready she was telling me about how the silver belt around her waist was originally supposed to be in her hair, but then her little boy picked out her flower crown for her, so she just had to wear it for him. Doris even made her own bouquet all by herself, which was real and so impressive! Even Franklin's ring was special, as he was telling me about how he loved his wedding ring because it was made up of pieces of meteorite and dinosaur bones in resin! I absolutely love hearing about the details that make up a wedding day since those are the little pieces that help to tell their story and represent the relationship.
