I recently asked a few sweet clients and friends to describe my photography in a couple of words. These stood out as the most popular, and I think the theme they all have in common is that they aren’t just words, they’re feelings. More than anything, I want to make images you can feel, even after time has passed and memories have started to fade. That's what I’m all about.

About My Approach

One of my most asked questions is about my approach to photographing wedding days. I’m sure if you’ve been to a couple of other photographers websites throughout the planning process, you’ve seen the word “authentic” more than a few times now. Let’s face it, authentic imagery is more trendy than ever, and for good reason! There’s a certain magic that only you have that can’t be replicated, and you deserve to have that reflected in your wedding photos. However, I do get asked often about how I pose and give direction to my couples during times such as bride & groom portraits. Since authenticity is and always will be my central focus to photography, my inspiration for all my prompts is you. You can expect flattering, simple prompts and that feel effortless, so you can interpret them in a way that feels the most genuine and honest. I’ll be there for the unplanned, realest of moments, and to provide direction amidst the chaos of the day where it’s needed. Approaching photography with purpose and intentionality is what sets my work and my experience apart. I think at its core, my approach often changes slightly from wedding to wedding, couple to couple, because every couple is different, every wedding is different, every story is different. And that should be celebrated.

The Process

Step one

  • If you think we’re a good fit, I’d absolutely love to hear from you. Fill out the contact form here on my website to get the ball rolling. After that I’ll send you a detailed pricing sheet which goes over all my wedding packages and add-ons so we can customize the perfect wedding experience package for you!

Step two

  • If you’re ready to book with me, I’ll send you a booking packet via email, which includes a contract and 35% retainer fee for any package you chose. Once those are taken care of, we’ll be official! Then we can start daydreaming about your wedding day and planning your engagement session!

STEP THREE

  • Between booking and the day of your wedding, I love to keep in touch with my couples via social media or text, and I absolutely love seeing your wedding day vision through inspiration photos or Pinterest boards, so feel free to send those my way at any time! I also include engagement photo sessions in all of my wedding packages, so we can meet, take some beautiful photos of the two of you, and get you nice and comfortable in front of my camera, which really helps ease the wedding day nerves. I also will send out a Wedding Day Questionnaire about 60 days prior to the wedding date which goes over all the info I’ll need to know for the wedding day, such as: moments most important to you, must have photos, family shot list, people of contact, vendor information, etc.

Step Four

  • On the day of your wedding, you can expect a fly-on-the-wall style approach combined with an experienced and professional presence. Simply focus on soaking it all in and I’ll be there to help your dream day goes smoothly, beautifully, and that not a single moment is missed.

Step Five

  • While you’re living up your first official week as newlyweds, I’ll be getting your sneak peek gallery ready to send your way! I know how hard it is to wait, so your sneak peeks will contain anywhere from 60-80 highlight images from your wedding day to get you through until your full gallery is perfected, which you can expect in 8-12 weeks.

FAQ

  • Please message me via my contact page and give me all the details about your wedding or session. After determining which package is perfect for you, I’ll send you a booking packet which contains a contract to book your date + time, as well as a deposit (50% for sessions, 35% for weddings). No wedding or session is booked until the booking packet is completed. Payment plans are available.

  • I always recommend the sooner the better. Dates fill up fast, and I book 1-2 years in advance. I do take on a limited number of weddings per year, so I can be deliver the highest quality of work possible for my clients.

  • Payments for weddings can be broken down into as many as 3 payments, the last of which will be due 30 days prior to the wedding date.

    Payments for sessions can be broken down into 2 (50/50) payments, the last of which will be due 1 week prior to the session date.

  • I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was 14, but I’ve been photographing wedding days since 2018.

  • As of January 1, 2023 I have photographed around 165 wedding and elopement days.

  • Turn around times for weddings will be between 8-12 weeks, depending on the time of year. Sneak peek galleries will be delivered within 1 week of the wedding date.

    Turn around times for sessions will be around 2-3 weeks.

  • Each image goes through a basic round of editing through Lightroom with my own preset, then gets uploaded to photoshop for fine-tuning. My edits could be described as minimal, true-to-tone, and film-inspired.

  • I do retouch small distractions and anything that isn’t permanent. (ie: a bruise, a blemish, a stain on a shirt, etc.) However I won’t drastically photoshop or alter the look of any of my subjects in any way.

  • Rescheduling a wedding day will require payment of a second retainer fee (35%).

    Rescheduling of a session will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, however any session where there is a studio fee included will need to be made again and any fees made for the original booking will be lost.

  • Yes! I would be honored to capture your love story wherever your dream destination is. I do however only take on a very limited number of destination weddings per year. I have crafted packages specifically for destination weddings with all the travel fees rolled up into one figure to make things easy.
